What is Disko? Disko is a GPL-licensed application framework, that can be used for a fast and easy creation of customized Graphical User Interfaces for embedded systems. The main idea of Disko is to share as much code as possible between different applications. It is specialised in touchscreen and remote control navigation and provides a plugin based management component, which enables easy writing and extending embedded applications. For media playback purposes (DVD, DVB, IPTV and audio streams) you can choose between the well known xine media library and gstreamer. Disko comes along with an integrated framebuffer support and an own x11 backend. If desired, it runs with DirectFB, too. Flexible Licensing
Disko is a GPL-licensed framework and therefore royalty free. In case you're not able to deliver your source code to your customers, we offer alternative licensing solutions. Please contact us for further information.

Disko supports gstreamer As a result of the latest enhancements Disko now provides a gstreamer-support for the latest version 0.10.23. Thus you can get an even better video quality thanks to the video-scaling of gstreamer. Additionally the gstreamer-support gives you the chance to use the DSP-support by Texas Instruments when working with TI DaVinci or OMAP. The mentioned enhancements are contained in the current git-version. |
